Game Changer! Immutable and Polygon Join Forces

Hello You Beautiful Builders!
I admit it… I’m not much of a gamer. My run lasted from the Atari (yeah, I’m that old) to the XBox 360.
After that not so much. However, there are tons of gamers out there. Billions. In fact, over 3 Billion according to some reports.
Despite some resistance and FUD, more big game developers are starting to experiment with Web3 and the blockchain.
The news (see below) that Immutable and Polygon (technically competitors) have teamed up to launch Immutable zkEVM is a big step to onboarding that next billion users I keep talking about to Web3.
Thanks!
Immutable and Polygon zkEVM
Just as I was putting this newsletter together there was BIG news in the web3 gaming space!
Polygon Labs and Immutable announced a "strategic alliance" to create a new Ethereum scaling network called Immutable zkEVM combing the recent Polygon zkEVM technology with the Immutable platform, which is made for blockchain-based games.
With Immutable zkEVM, developers can migrate games and smart contracts from Ethereum, Polygon, and any other EVM-compatible solution without any modifications.

Web3 Games Guide
Excited to build a Web3 game on Immutable zkEVM... or anywhere else?
Blueprint is a comprehensive roadmap for Web3 game development from Polygon Labs.
You will receive a primer on what's required to being games on-chain complete with considerations, advantages, drawbacks, and links to additional resources.

Introducing Pyrometer
The team at Nascent has launched an alpha version of a new open source security tool Pyrometer for analyzing smart contracts.
Pyrometer evaluates Solidity code using a mix of abstract interpretation, symbolic execution, and static analysis tracking variables through the program and understanding how the code affects those values.
Pyrometer was developed to give developers and auditors a deeper understanding of the smart contracts they are working with to find bugs and potential exploits faster.
Immunefi PoC Templates
Speaking of security, Immunifi has released a suite of Proof of Concept (PoC) templates to make the bug report submission process faster and easier.
A PoC is code that demonstrates a vulnerability without actually exploiting it.
Using Immunifi's PoC templates you can use pre-written code blocks to easily and quickly build PoCs without having to create them from scratch.
Mist DAO
MistDAO is a developer DAO "dedicated to accelerating the Sui ecosystem".
Because Sui is a relative newcomer, Mist DAO's goal is to onboard developers to the Sui ecosystem with infrastructure, tooling, knowledge sharing, open source dApps, and educational resources.
What Is Decentralized Identity?
Decentralized or sovereign identity enables a system that doesn’t need gatekeepers in the credentialing and verification process.
Instead of requesting permissions from a platform, the apps will request permission from its users.
This deep-dive covers the opportunities and challenges, and some of the tools and platforms in place to implement decentralized identity.

Alchemy now supports the Sepolia testnet
The Goerli testnet has been running into an issue of a dwindling test ETH supply. There's now even a bridge to swap Goerli ETH for real-world tokens!
Ethereum developer Marius van der Wijden suggests the easiest fix is to just let Goerli "slowly die."
Developers can now set up a Sepolia Testnet node on Alchemy for testing their dApps. They've even set up a Sepolia faucet to get you started.
